June 28-30, 2009
Spokane Convention Center
                      Image

The 2009 WASA/AWSP Summer
Conference promises a great
line-up of presenters, both for
keynote and concurrent sessions.
Our state's practitioners will
present nearly sixty concurrent
sessions, including a full range
of best practices for effective
student learning and systems delivery. Presenters will address current issues
such as: sound math instruction, alignment of science instruction to
standards, effective efforts in making AYP, managing your schools/
districts during difficult times, and ways to maximize the stimulus support.

The Sunday opening keynote speaker will be Consuelo Castillo Kickbush,
retired U.S. Army Colonel and accomplished speaker and business person.
Consuelo will convey a message of hope and making a difference in the
lives of our students, parents and communities.

Monday morning's program will feature Dr. Juan Enriquez, business leader,
author, and academic, who is recognized as one of the world's leading
authorities on the economic impacts of life sciences.

On Tuesday, we will receive an update from our Superintendent of Public
Instruction, Randy Dorn. Then, our (invited) closing keynote speaker,
Todd Whitaker, Ph.D., Professor of Educational Leadership, Indiana State
University, will remind us that "The Most Important Things in Life Aren't
Things".
