Administrators (AASA)
AASA is a professional administrators organization with a
membership of more than 16,500 educational leaders in North America and
other countries. Founded in 1865, AASA's focus areas are improving the
condition of children and youth, preparing schools and school systems
for the 21st century, connecting schools and communities, and enhancing
the quality and effectiveness of school leaders.
Association of Washington School
Principals (AWSP)
The mission of the Association of Washington School Principals
is to support principals and the principalship in the education of all
students. AWSP's vision of the future is one in which every principal
strives to ensure that all students achieve or exceed state and local
learning requirements.
Center for
the Improvement of Student Learning (CISL)
The legislature reactivated funding for CISL in 2006 with the
purpose o ffacilitating access to information and materials on education
improvement.
Employee Relations and
Negotiations Network (ERNN)
The Employee Relations and Negotiations Network was created to
better organize and communicate information between and among school
districts and ESDs. Membership in our statewide network provides regular
reports on emerging bargaining and employee relations issues and greatly
enhances your school district's perspective in negotiations.
Education Northwest
The mission of Education Northwest is to improve
educational results for children, youth, and adults by providing
research and development assistance in delivering equitable, high
quality educational programs.A private, nonprofit corporation, NWREL
provides research and development assistance to education, government,
community agencies, business and labor. NWREL primarily serves the Northwest region
of Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, and Washington.
Office of the Education Ombudsman
(OEO)
The OEO is a public service agency that provides information about
Washington state's public school system, how to get involved conflict
resolution between families and schools, and referrals to
education-related resources in Washington state. Open Monday-Friday,
8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
Office of Superintendent of
Public Instruction (OSPI)
The OSPI Web site offers valuable material and research results relating
to education in Washington State. The site includes such information as
the current State of Education address, recent WASL results, grant, and
technological and legislative information.
State Board of
Education (SBE)
The SBE is a state education policy board whose primary responsibilities
are to promote the goals of the Basic Education Act, set graduation
requirements, and implement a standards-based accountability system to
improve student academic achievement.
Washington Association of
School Business Officials (WASBO)
The Washington School Association of Business Officials is a non-profit
organization of school employees whose responsibilities include the
business affairs of public and non-profit schools.
Washington Educational Research
Association (WERA)
WERA is a not-for-profit organization of
professionals working at all levels of education dedicated to improving
the practice of instruction, assessment, evaluation, conducting and
applying educational research, and using data to inform instructional
decisions. Our services include two regional conferences,
publications, and training for our members.
Washington Learns
Washington Learns, created and led by Governor Chris Gregoire, conducted
a top to bottom, 18-month review of Washington’s entire education
system, its structure and funding. The recommendations developed by
Washington Learns will fundamentally change educational expectations,
delivery and results. The diverse group of business, community,
education, government and minority leaders from all across Washington
assembled to create a roadmap for building a world–class education
system that prepares all Washington students to succeed in today’s
global economy.
Washington Interscholastic Activities
Association (WIAA)
WIAA's purpose is to plan, supervise and administer the
interscholastic activities approved and delegated by the school
districts' boards of directors.
Washington State Association for
Supervision and Curriculum Development (WSASCD)
WSASCD's mission is to to identify and promote quality
educational practices that enhance the growth and development
of all educators and students.
Washington State Learning
First Alliance (WSLFA)
The Washington State Learning First Alliance is an alliance of
major state educational organizations dedicated to strengthening
environments for teaching and learning.
Washington State School Directors'
Association (WSSDA)
WSSDA aims to provide leadership for the continual improvement
of a public education system that assures effective learning for all
students and to assure that school board members develop the skills and
knowledge necessary for fulfilling their responsibilities.
